Spokanes's Only NOI-trained Graded Motor Imagery Clinician: 26 Yrs of Experience
Most patients who land on Arch Harrison’s schedule have already tried the obvious answers. They’ve cycled through orthopedic clinics, pain specialists, and physical therapists, often for years, without finding the framework that actually fits their case.
Arch’s specialty — Graded Motor Imagery — was built for exactly that population. It’s a neuroscience-informed approach to chronic pain pioneered by the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (NOI Group), and it works on the principle that long-standing pain isn’t always a tissue problem. Sometimes it’s the nervous system itself that needs to be retrained.
Arch’s training came directly from one of NOI’s principal founders, David Butler. He’s been practicing GMI clinically for over a decade. Patients with a 10-year history of unresolved chronic pain, those who have seen four or five providers without noticeable progress, routinely fill his schedule.

Beliefs Behind My Therapeutic Approach
“Chronic pain isn’t always a sign that something is still broken. Sometimes it’s a sign that the nervous system never got the message that the danger has passed — and that’s a problem you can teach the body out of, one careful step at a time.”

WHO I HELP
When the Pain Has Outlasted the Injury
The patients who do best with my work are the ones who’ve been told there’s nothing more to do, or that the imaging looks fine, or that they just have to live with it. Long-standing chronic pain isn’t a life sentence — it’s often a nervous system that’s stuck in a protective pattern long after the original problem has resolved. Graded Motor Imagery gives that system a way out. Most of my patients have never been offered this approach before.
